Goderich & Exeter Railway (GEXR) Report
by
Tim Ball
First stop was a visit to Stratford where the morning yard
job hadn't started yet.
The LLPX 2236 needs a little more cleaning to remove the "tagger's" handiwork.

It's dance partner is the GEXR 3821.

Now a fast walk down to Cowie, which is just at the west end of the platform of
the VIA station, to catch 84's arrival.

With all the excitement dying down at Stratford, it's time to continue the
"doughnut run" to Goderich. The one
thing I love about the GEXR is the colour. Beats the hell out of black, red and
white all the time. It's just too
bad most of the units are now just parts sources. Here are some shots from the
"Dead Line" at Goderich.
I believe the HLCX units are just waiting for a return to the Lessor.
In early July, the Three HLCX units in the photos are billed to East Alburgh, VT for interchange to NECR.

This is all pretty "hard work", so it's time for coffee and doughnuts. Downtown
Goderich is the location for
Culbert's Bakery. It took awhile, but, I finally decided on a couple of good
ones and went in search of a place
in the shade for a break. The old CP station seemed like as good a place as
any. I understand it will soon
be moved to a new location.

So with that, covered in powdered sugar as I was, it was time to head for
home. One more stop in
Shakespeare for curds and the day was down. A tasty one indeed.
That's it from the 4th Concession for now;
